Adrian Leon Barisic transfers to FC Basel from NK Osijek for €3m – we scouted Barisic back in February 2022 after a tip-off and then followed him again in June 2023. We felt the Bosnian centre-back was ready for a Tier 1 club, so this could be great business for Basel.

“Adrian Leon Barisic is a 21-year-old Bosnian CB, Barisic is an impressive job in defence. Apart from his judgement on select occasions, he does not make any noticeable mistakes as such. He uses his physique extremely well in defence and attack and has excellent aerial prowess. He is good with the way he works his body angles at the time of defending which allows him to tackle more effectively. When in possession, he can work on accessing all parts of the pitch as most of his passes were concentrated towards a particular side. But, he had a good first touch and long passing accuracy. Did well in transitions, constantly reading the game and adapting to situations.”
