There are no surprises at the top of the Bundesliga goalscoring charts, with Harry Kane leading the pack on 22 goals.
He’s followed by Serhou Guirassy of Stuttgart with 17 goals to his name, and Loïs Openda of RB Leipzig completes the top three on 11 goals — no prizes for anyone guessing who wins the Golden Boot at this rate!
Delving deeper into the stats to understand how the top 10 Bundesliga scorers have fared, we’ve visualised the shot profile of the league’s top 10 scorers at present.
Harry Kane’s goals have come from 66 attempts, with 19 of those goals being non-penalty ones.
They have also come from an xG of just 13.7 — demonstrating what a class finisher the Englishman is!
Meanwhile, Guirassy’s conversion rate of 38% is the highest among the top 10, similar to his goals per 90 ratio of 1.33.
Loïs Openda, who moved to RB Leipzig in the summer after just one season at Lens, has attempted the most shots (69) in the league. Naturally, his goal conversion rate of 16% is among the lowest in the league.
At the same time, Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen — with 4.45 shots per 90 — ranks number one for that metric and has the lowest conversion rate, with just 15% of his attempts finding the back of the net.
Jonas Wind and Deniz Undav — neither of whom have scored any penalties this season — rank well on par with their xG. Wind, in fact, with 2.17 shots per 90, ranks second-lowest for that particular metric.
Ermedin Demirović of Augsburg, Leroy Sané of Bayern Munich, and Omar Marmoush of Eintracht Frankfurt are all interesting names in the top 10 scorers and find themselves average to above-average in several shooting metrics.
Marmoush, with 32 attempts on goal, ranks second from bottom for that metric, while Alex Grimaldo, traditionally a left-back, closes out the top 10 and has the lowest xG (2.83) among them, along with the lowest number of shots.
