The 2024/25 Champions League has already produced plenty of thrilling games, and the action should continue in the same vein during November.
The early league table for the revamped competition paints an intriguing picture.
After three matches, just three points separate the top 16 teams.
Only eight teams are guaranteed to progress to the knockout phase, adding an additional layer of jeopardy to the Champions League.
With that in mind, we have identified five fixtures worth watching in November, starting with a clash between two of the most successful clubs in the competition’s history.
Real Madrid vs AC Milan – November 5
Real Madrid are second favourite in the latest Champions League odds by Betway to lift the prestigious trophy for a record-extending 16th time.
They will fancy their chances of recording their third victory in four games this season but would be well advised not to underestimate Milan.
The seven-time winners bounced back from two defeats to beat Club Brugge in their third outing and will be eager to make life difficult for Madrid.
Liverpool vs Bayer Leverkusen – November 5
The clash between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen on November 5 is undoubtedly one of the most eye-catching fixtures in the fourth round of matches.
Liverpool has won three consecutive Champions League matches, while Leverkusen has collected seven points from a possible nine.
The Merseyside outfit looks much improved under manager Arne Slot but will not find things easy against the reigning Bundesliga champions.Inter Milan vs Arsenal – November 6
Inter Milan and Arsenal have both picked up seven points from their first three games. Neither side has conceded a goal, so this could be a tight contest.
Arsenal’s opening game was a goalless draw at Atalanta, and Inter are a more talented team than their Serie A counterparts.
Simone Inzaghi’s side held Manchester City to a 0-0 draw at the Etihad Stadium in September, and they could cause Arsenal problems at the San Siro.
Aston Villa vs Juventus – November 27
Only the most ardent Aston Villa fan would have predicted their team would be top of the standings after three games, but that is precisely where they are.
Villa’s most impressive result was a 1-0 home victory over Bayern Munich in early October and they could be a good bet to repeat the trick against Juventus.
The Serie A giants lost 1-0 at home against Stuttgart in their most recent outing and may find it difficult to cope with Villa’s array of attacking talent.
Liverpool vs Real Madrid – November 27
Liverpool can also lay claim to featuring in the standout fixture on Matchday 5 when they welcome Madrid to Anfield.
The 15-time champions are unbeaten in their last eight meetings with Liverpool and will expect to enhance that record at the end of November.
However, a recent 4-0 home defeat against Barcelona in La Liga highlighted that their star-studded team is not as cohesive as previous incarnations.
