The 2023/24 League Two automatic promotion list is confirmed. Stockport County, as champions, Mansfield Town and Wrexham will all be playing in League One next season. MK Dons are set to finish fourth and make an attempt for promotion through the playoffs, while the race for the remaining three playoff places is still open, with Crewe, Barrow, Crawley Town and Doncaster all in the mix — Walsall, too, have an outside chance.

The below visualisation shows the teams’ respective points tallies at home and away from home.

It’s worth noting that only four teams have won more points away from home than at home — Crawley Town, Forest Green Rovers, Harrogate Town and Salford City. All, except Crawley, sit in the bottom half of the table, a unique feat in this season’s competition.

Sutton United and Colchester United, fighting to stay in the EFL, have the joint lowest points (24) at home in the league this season. Swindon Town, 19th in the table, have the lowest points away from home (16) this season, followed by Sutton United (23rd) and Grimsby Town (21st), both of whom have 17 points away from home.

Doncaster Rovers and Walsall are the only teams in the top half of the table to have fewer than 25 points on the road, both with 23.

Wrexham, Stockport County, Mansfield Town, and MK Dons are where they are in the table because of their excellent home record, while champions Stockport also boast the league’s best away record.
