The EURO 2020 match between Netherlands and Ukraine has probably been the most entertaining so far, as the Oranje were able to sneak a 3-2 win in Amsterdam. Coach Frank de Boer caused some dissatisfaction with his lineup as the Netherlands were sent out in a 3-5-2 formation, with Patrick van Aanholt surprisingly getting the nod over Owen Wijndal at left wing-back, while Ukraine lined up in their expected 4-1-4-1 shape. The game itself was extremely entertaining as both sides looked to attack at every opportunity, with the Netherlands creating the better chances but failing to take them in the first half, while the Ukraine goalkeeper Heorhiy Bushchan was in inspired form, making a couple of excellent saves to keep the scores level. However, things changed in the second half – the Netherlands took the lead through captain Gini Wijnaldum, and Wout Weghorst added a second goal soon after. Ukraine came back strongly and scored twice in quick succession through Andriy Yarmolenko and Roman Yaremchuk, but Denzel Dumfries was on hand to score again and give the Netherlands all three points.
