Two-time winners Germany are part of Group H along with Colombia, South Korea and Morocco. One player to definitely watch out for from Group H is Germany’s Klara Bühl. The 22-year-old winger who has spent the entirety of her professional career playing in the Bundesliga will be integral to Germany’s chances in the World Cup.
The below visualization shows where Klara Bühl ranks for some of the key metrics when compared with the other wingers from the Frauen Bundesliga 22/23.
22-year-old Klara Bühl who moved from Freiburg to Bayern Munich in 2020, has since been one of the key players in her team’s success over the last three years. Bühl predominantly plays as a left-sided winger but can step in to play anywhere in the front three whenever required. With nine assists to her name, only two other players finished with more assists than Klara Bühl in the recently concluded Bundesliga season. She also had one of her best individual seasons, with five goals and nine assists to her name.
Looking at the visual above, dribbling is one of the German’s biggest strengths — ranking 88th percentile for dribbles per 90 minutes. Defensively, her work rate is questionable but her offensive intelligence to create chances at ease for her teammates outweighs the negatives to her game.
Klara Bühl has been one of the first names on the team sheet for Bayern Munich over the last couple of seasons and her excellent performances have consistently made her such a vital part of this Women’s national team.
At 18 years old, she was already part of the German team that exited the tournament in the quarter-finals in 2019. After a good qualifying campaign, she will once again look to replicate her recent performances in the main tournament this year and help her team progress to the later stages of the tournament.
