Both Chelsea and PSG have been linked to the transfer of Gabriel Moscardo, a 17 y/o midfielder playing in Brazil for Corinthians. We first video-scouted Moscardo in September of this year, grading him as having the potential to be a leading Tier 1 player in years to come.
Who is Gabriel Moscardo?
Gabriel Moscardo is a 17-year-old highly talented defensive midfielder who understands his role during the attacking phase and performs it diligently. Does well to receive the ball from his defenders and looks quick to move the ball forward with his ground passes. Lacks a strong passing range but that did not look like a weakness in his game considering the composure he shows in possession.
He comes into his groove while defending as he looks highly active when trying to close down players and also makes prompt recoveries to screen his backline. He hardly gives his man time on the ball and adopts a physical/aggressive approach as well, wherein, he doesn’t mind giving away those odd fouls. He also looks strong defending in and around the box as he uses his tall frame to good advantage. With experience, the promising midfielder can play at a higher level.
