This Premier League season has not so much been all about Manchester City and Erling Haaland in the way last season often was. There have been strong individual and team performances from so many involved this time around. Some have quietly surprised everyone with their performances, including Dominic Solanke and Jarrod Bowen, who are among the top-five scorers in the league.
The below visualisation shows how consistent the top-five goalscorers in the league have been.
Top scorer Haaland has missed his team’s last five league games through injury, but in spite of that, he is, unsurprisingly, the joint-top scorer in the league with 14.
Mohamed Salah is tied with Haaland at the top on 14 goals. The Egyptian, however, has scored four penalties — more than any other player in the top five, only behind Cole Palmer overall. The remarkable thing about Salah this season has been his consistent scoring form at Anfield. He has scored in all home games except against Manchester United and Fulham.
In third place for the Golden Boot race is Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth. The forward is having one of his best seasons in the top flight and seems to be finally proving his worth at the highest level of English football. Solanke has scored in his last four home games, one of which was the suspended Luton Town game, while Bournemouth are unbeaten in all of those fixtures.
Solanke is one of the biggest reasons for Bournemouth’s impressive last couple of months. Closing out this list is Son Heung-min with 12 goals and Jarrod Bowen with 11. Tottenham Hotspur have won seven of the nine games in which their captain has scored, losing five of the 11 in which Son has not scored.
After a slow start to the season, scoring only against Burnley in the first five games, the forward has found some consistency in front of the goal of late. On the other hand, Bowen has not scored more than once in any game so far this term, though he’s netted in some big games.
