We’re deep in the middle of the winter transfer period where all Premier League teams will be looking to add some quality to their injury-ravaged squads after an action-packed festive fixture list.

While there are still question marks over the fates of many big-name stars like Paul Pogba who are threatening to leave the Premier League, there are rumours that Jadon Sancho could soon be coming back to top-flight football in the UK. Sancho has been widely rumoured to be unhappy at Borussia Dortmund who have made an indifferent start to their Bundesliga campaign.

Although football transfers are prone to all manner of wild rumours, it seems as though several Premier League clubs have been enquiring into the future of the 19-year old forward. This is backed up by the fact that as 888Sport is one of the industry leaders for transfer betting, they have odds for Sancho signing with Premier League sides like Manchester City, Chelsea or Manchester United.

Could Sancho come back to Manchester City?

Jadon Sancho has already spent time with Manchester City as part of their academy before Borussia Dortmund signed him for £8 million in August 2017. With Pep Guardiola’s team having an uncharacteristically turbulent season, it would make sense to refresh the side with an explosive player like Sancho.

It’s already been reported that Manchester City would be willing to spend £90 million on luring the youngster back to the Etihad. Sancho is known for being good friends with City stalwarts like Raheem Sterling, and he would certainly bolster an ageing squad that includes forwards like Sergio Aguero who might be entering the twilight of their Premier League careers.

However, with no less than two and half years left on his current contract and no immediately obvious replacement, Borussia Dortmund would be very unwilling to let one of their star players go so easily.

Will Sancho come to Stamford Bridge?

Growing up as ardent Chelsea supporter, Jadon Sancho must surely be impressed with the fact that the London club have shown a lot of interest in signing him from Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea’s attack has started looking fairly toothless in recent weeks, and it would be easy to see how Sancho could slot in alongside Tammy Abraham upfront. This is especially as the French forward Olivier Giroud has been rumoured to be leaving to join Inter Milan.

However, it’s still unclear as to whether Chelsea would be willing to pay such a huge fee to get Sancho on their books – particularly with other areas such as central defence needing attention. As a result, it looks like Chelsea are cooling on Sancho for the moment, although they might revive their interest in the summer transfer period.

Is Sancho set to join Manchester United?

Having suffered an inconsistent season so far, it’s little surprise to find that Manchester United are clamouring after a player of Jadon Sancho’s quality. While Marcus Rashford has shown flashes of brilliance, the United attack has often looked uninspired – particularly in recent dismal performances such as their League Cup clash with Manchester City.

Bringing Sancho to Old Trafford would make perfect sense. This is because the winger would work wonders on the opposite flank to the side where United strikers like Rashford and Anthony Martial feel more comfortable.

However, Sancho isn’t the only striker that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking at. The manager is also reportedly considering adding the Ajax forward Hakim Ziyech to the United attack, which could provide a less costly alternative. But one thing’s for certain, and that is that Jadon Sancho is one of Europe’s most in-demand football stars.
